German squad moved to safe location

Joachim Low and his Germany squad are escorted to a safe location by police after their game with Netherlands is cancelled due to a security alert.

Germany have confirmed that the squad has been moved to a safe location after their friendly with Netherlands was cancelled.

The HDI Stadium in Hannover had been evacuated earlier on Tuesday evening due to a security alert, and with the concern surrounding safety of players and supporters following the attacks in Paris, the game was quickly called off.

It has also been reported that trains leaving the venue had been stopped, but German officials have used Twitter to confirm that the players have been escorted to a different location.

Belgium's meeting with Spain had also been cancelled due to security concerns.

Police officers and rescue workers stand near the site of a shooting near Place de la Republique square in Paris on November 13, 2015. At least 18 people were killed in several shootings and explosions in Paris today, police said.
