Germany manager Joachim Low claims that his side were better "all over the pitch" despite falling to a 2-0 defeat to France in the semi-finals of Euro 2016.

Germany manager Joachim Low has claimed that his side deserved to win their Euro 2016 semi-final against France this evening.

The world champions dominated possession and territory, but failed to find a breakthrough as two goals from Antoine Griezmann sent the hosts into the final.

Low, however, believes that Germany were the better team in every area apart from the result on the night.

"We were the better side tonight; we were better all over the pitch but for goals and the result," he told reporters.

Germany have reached the semi-finals in each of the last six major tournaments, but have only progressed to the final twice in that time.
