A report claims that Galatasaray midfielder Wesley Sneijder is closing in on a move to new MLS outfit Los Angeles FC.

Experienced Netherlands midfielder Wesley Sneijder is reportedly closing in on a move to the MLS after agreeing a two-year deal with Los Angeles FC.

Expansion team LAFC are due to enter the MLS in 2018, and according to ESPN, the outfit have fought off interest from fellow North American clubs to sign the 33-year-old on a lucrative two-year contract.

The report claims that Sneijder will stay with Turkish giants Galatasaray for the remainder of 2017, before making the move to the United States ahead of a March 2018 kickoff.

Sneijder, who is the leading appearance-maker for the Dutch national team on 131 caps, has represented Galatasaray for the last five seasons - scoring 45 times in 173 appearances following a 2013 move from Inter Milan.

The former Ajax youngster has also previously turned out for Real Madrid during a glittering career.
