How France could line up against Albania

Sports Mole looks at how France could line up for Sunday's Euro 2020 qualifying clash with Albania in Tirana.

France travel to the Albanian capital of Tirana on Sunday evening as they look to complete their Euro 2020 qualification campaign with an eighth win in 10 games.

The World Cup champions had their place confirmed on Thursday night before they edged past Moldova 2-1 as Iceland failed to beat Turkey in Group H's early kickoff.

Albania, meanwhile, are currently sat in fourth on 13 points after they drew 2-2 with Andorra, despite taking the lead twice in that game.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how France could line up for Sunday's showdown.

Although France now have their place at next summer's European Championships secured, Didier Deschamps will win want his side to finish the campaign with a win and therefore top the group.

As such, Deschamps is expected to name a strong side for Sunday's trip to Eastern Europe, although there are likely to be a few changes from the team that beat Moldova.

Steve Mandanda should keep his place in goal, while Clement Lenglet could be replaced by Presnel Kimpembe in central defence as it was his mistake that allowed Vadim Rata to give Moldova a shock lead on Thursday night.

Another change in the French defence is anticipated to come at left-back, where Leo Dubois is expected to be preferred to Everton's Lucas Digne.

Given that he has not long returned from injury, it is unlikely that N'Golo Kante will start both games for France in the space of three days, which will open up a spot at the base of the midfield.

Deschamps might opt to give Matteo Guendouzi a first cap but the more likely scenario will see Tottenham Hotspur's utility player Moussa Sissoko deployed alongside Corentin Tolisso.

Thomas Lemar came off the bench to replace Kingsley Coman late in the game with Moldova and he is expected to start on Sunday, while Wissam Ben Yedder's impressive recent form should see him replace Olivier Giroud up front.
