Everton are reportedly closing in on the signing of midfielder Josh Bowler, who is said to be having a medical with the Premier League side.

Queens Park Rangers midfielder Josh Bowler has reportedly taken a step closer to signing for Everton.

Soon after the end of the season, it was claimed that Bowler had turned down the opportunity to sign a new deal at Loftus Road, a decision which soon alerted Everton.

It was indicated that they had failed with a £3m offer for the 18-year-old but according to Sky Sports News, a bid of £4.25m has been successful.

That has led to Bowler making the trip to Merseyside to undergo a medical and should everything go to plan, he will complete a transfer to the Toffees.

Bowler has only made one first-team appearance for QPR, which came as a 69th-minute substitute against Norwich City on the final day of the most recent Championship campaign.
