Everton midfielder Ross Barkley is left out of the team's pre-season tour to Holland due to a groin injury.

Everton manager Ronald Koeman has not included Ross Barkley in the travelling squad for a pre-season trip to Holland.

The midfielder's long-term future at Goodison Park remains uncertain after Koeman hinted last season that the midfielder will be sold if he does not pen a new deal this summer.

Barkley, who is believed to have attracted interest from Tottenham Hotspur, currently has one year remaining on his contract at his boyhood club.

Everton's new signings Jordan Pickford, Sandro Ramirez and Cuco Martina have all travelled, but Barkley has missed out due to a groin injury that also prevented him from flying to Tanzania.

The Toffees will face FC Twente on Wednesday in a pre-season friendly before heading to Belgium to play Genk next Saturday.
