Former England defender Terry Butcher believes that the Three Lions will "win comfortably" against Panama in Sunday's World Cup Group G encounter in Nizhny Novgorod.

Former England international Terry Butcher has tipped the Three Lions to "win comfortably" against Panama in Sunday's World Cup Group G encounter in Nizhny Novgorod.

Gareth Southgate's charges are guaranteed to make the last 16 if they beat the Central Americans, who began their campaign in Russia with a 3-0 defeat to Belgium.

Panama are ranked 55th in the world and are seen to be one of the weaker sides in Russia, leading Butcher to state that a fully focused and patient England can make light work of their opponents.

"If England's mindset is correct, I think they will win comfortably," the 59-year-old told BBC Sport.

"Panama will park their bus and try and catch England on the break so we'll have got to be patient.

"I'm sure Gareth will be telling the players to get the job done as quickly as possible and then enjoy it."

Belgium and Tunisia have already played their second Group G game, the Red Devils running out 5-2 winners over the Carthage Eagles on Saturday.
