Team News: England recall Raheem Sterling for last-16 clash with Iceland

The reintroduction of Raheem Sterling is one of six changes for England against Iceland.

England have recalled Raheem Sterling to their starting XI for this evening's Euro 2016 last-16 showdown with Iceland.

The Manchester City forward has been drafted in at the expense of Liverpool's Adam Lallana as one of six changes from the 0-0 draw with Slovakia.

Kyle Walker and Danny Rose have been restored at full-back, while Chris Smalling and Gary Cahill make up the remainder of the Three Lions' rearguard.

Eric Dier of Tottenham Hotspur takes on a holding midfield role, behind Dele Alli and captain Wayne Rooney.

Several British-based players feature in Iceland's unchanged lineup, with Swansea City's Gylfi Sigurdsson and Cardiff City's Aron Gunnarsson supporting Kolbeinn Sigthorsson of Nantes in the attack.
