UEFA opens disciplinary proceedings against Croatia and Turkey after separate incidents at Euro 2016 on Friday.

UEFA has opened disciplinary proceedings against both Croatia and Turkey after separate incidents at Euro 2016 on Friday.

During their 2-2 draw with Czech Republic in Saint-Etienne, Croatian supporters threw flares onto the pitch - with one exploding as a steward attempted to remove it - and were said to be involved in minor scuffles in one section of the crowd.

In a statement on Saturday morning, the charges listed against Croatia are throwing of objects, crowd disturbance and racist behaviour.

Proceedings have also been opened against Turkey, with the setting off of fireworks, throwing of objects and field invasion the charges listed against their football association after their 3-0 defeat to Spain.

The UEFA Control of Ethics and Disciplinary body will decide on their respective punishments on Monday.
