A report claims that Bayern Munich have refused to let Rafinha join Chelsea, as the Blues' search for right-sided defensive cover goes on.

Premier League champions Chelsea have had a deadline-day bid for Bayern Munich defender Rafinha rejected, according to a report.

The Blues are understood to still be on the lookout for another right wing-back after missing out on Danilo and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain this summer.

It emerged on Wednesday that Rafinha would be boss Antonio Conte's top target heading into the final day of transfer activity, but Sky Sports News reports that they have been unsuccessful in their attempt to lure him away from the Allianz Arena.

Rafinha, who would have provided competition for Victor Moses at Stamford Bridge, has made 204 appearances during his time in Bavaria.

Bayern manager Carlo Ancelotti is said to have had the final say on the proposed transfer, seeing the 31-year-old as a key squad player for the 2017-18 season.
