Chelsea to push for signing of Roma defender Kostas Manolas?

Chelsea are reportedly prepared to meet the release clause of Roma defender Kostas Manolas during the summer transfer window.

Chelsea have reportedly decided to activate the release clause of Roma defender Kostas Manolas.

The managerial situation at Stamford Bridge appears close to being resolved, with former Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri seemingly likely to replace head coach Antonio Conte.

Sarri is allegedly keen to bring in four Napoli players if he completes a switch to West London but according to Corriere dello Sport, Sarri is also looking to sign other players from Serie A.

The report claims that Chelsea are ready to meet the £31.5m release clause for Manolas in order to open talks with the Greece international.

Manolas has spent the last four seasons at the Stadio Olimpico, with 168 appearances being made in all competitions.
