Chelsea are reportedly planning to make young defender Andreas Christensen part of their first-team plans next season.

Chelsea are reportedly preparing to make young defender Andreas Christensen part of their first-team plans next season.

The 19-year-old joined the Blues from Danish outfit Brondby in 2012 and made three senior appearances before being shipped out on loan to Borussia Monchengladbach in a two-year deal last summer.

According to The Mirror, Christensen's form in Germany, which has included two goals and an assist in 23 Bundesliga appearances, has convinced Chelsea to cut short his loan deal and promote him to the main setup.

Chelsea are due to make changes at the back next season under their new manager, with veteran captain John Terry due to depart at the end of the current campaign.
