Chelsea are reportedly ready to step up their efforts to sign Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope ahead of next season.

Chelsea are reportedly prepared to step up their efforts to secure a deal for Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope.

After failing to make a positive impact at Stamford Bridge since his arrival in 2018, Kepa Arrizabalaga is expected to depart Stamford Bridge later in the summer.

That leaves Frank Lampard looking for a suitable replacement for the Spaniard, whose potential sale will not generate anywhere near the £72m which Chelsea shelled out two years ago.

According to the Daily Star, Lampard is happy to prioritise a pursuit of Pope after the England international's superb campaign at Turf Moor.

However, narrowly missing out on the Premier League Golden Glove award may lead to Pope being valued in the region of £50m.

Pope is said to be keen to move to a bigger club over the coming weeks, aware that it could help his chances of representing his country at Euro 2020.
