Chelsea are reportedly contemplating whether to launch a bid for Lazio defender Francesco Acerbi during the next transfer window.

Chelsea reportedly hold an interest in signing Lazio defender Francesco Acerbi at the end of the season.

While the Blues are well stocked for options at the back, Frank Lampard is expected to make alterations to his squad during the next transfer window.

According to FCInterNews. It, Chelsea are considering whether to make a bid for Acerbi, who has impressed for Lazio over the past seven months.

The centre-back has made 24 starts in Serie A this campaign, helping Lazio mount a strong challenge for the league title.

Should Chelsea up their efforts to sign the 32-year-old, they may face competition from Inter Milan.

However, with Acerbi still having over three years left on his contract, Lazio are in a position to rebuff any offers.
