Chelsea announce that they have allowed striker Ike Ugbo to sign a season-long loan deal with Barnsley.

Barnsley have won the race to sign Chelsea forward Ike Ugbo on a season-long loan deal.

Last week, it was claimed that Wolverhampton Wanderers, Leeds United and Bristol City were all keen on securing the teenager for the 2017-18 campaign.

However, the Blues have announced that last season's youth team top goalscorer was heading to Oakwell in a bid to prove himself in senior football.

Despite his exploits in the academy setup at the West Londoners, he is yet to make a first-team appearance at Chelsea or on loan in the Football League.

Ugbo is expected to compete with Tom Bradshaw for a starting role at the Championship outfit.
