Aston Villa owner Tony Xia refuses to discuss the possibility of ex-Chelsea captain John Terry moving to the club.

Aston Villa owner Tony Xia has refused to discuss the possibility of signing John Terry until his contract at Chelsea expires.

The defender has opted to leave Stamford Bridge this summer after spending 22 years of his career at the West London outfit.

Terry admitted that he considered retiring, but it seems as though the 36-year-old will take on one last challenge before he hangs up his boots.

Numerous suitors have been linked to the centre-back, including Villa's arch rivals Birmingham City, as well as clubs in the United States and China.

One Villa fan tweeted Xia for an update on the situation, and the Chinese businessman replied by saying: "Quoted Jose M. 'I am not going to talk about a player who still belongs to another club' as JT's contract with CFC expires until 1/7."

Reports have emerged this week claiming that Terry is seriously considering moving abroad.
