Andrew Robertson believes that Eden Hazard can be considered among the best five players in the world because of his form for Chelsea and Belgium.

Liverpool full-back Andrew Robertson has hailed Eden Hazard as a "special" talent and claims that the Chelsea and Belgium forward is among the world's top-five players.

Hazard has made a bright start to the 2018-19 Premier League season with two goals and two assists in four outings, despite being slowly eased back to full fitness following the World Cup.

The 27-year-old was one of the top performing stars in Russia, playing a pivotal part in Belgium's run to the semi-finals, and Robertson - tasked with keeping Hazard quiet when Scotland face the Red Devils on Friday night - insists that there are not many better players around.

"He is up there. He is probably in the top five at the minute," he told reporters ahead of the Hampden Park showdown. "I played against him many a time and even if he is having a quiet game he can pop up at any point and turn a game and that is what we are up against.

"He is special. The way he turns and gets at players, he can commit two or three defenders at a time and that is a very special trait, there is not many that have it but he has it. He has been unbelievable for Chelsea and Belgium and he is somebody we will need to watch.

"The problem with Belgium is you can't focus on Hazard as someone else pops up. That is one of the problems of playing a world-class team, you have to be aware of all their threats and we will be ready for them and do our best to stop them."

Robertson, capped 22 times, was recently named as Scotland's new permanent captain.
