Ruben Loftus-Cheek says that the Chelsea first-team squad accepted Kepa Arrizabalaga's apology after the goalkeeper refused to be substituted in the EFL Cup final.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek has reiterated that Chelsea want to 'move on' after Kepa Arrizabalaga's refusal to be substituted in the EFL Cup final.

Kepa was fined a week's wages and dropped from the midweek game with Tottenham Hotspur after opting to remain on the pitch against Maurizio Sarri's wishes versus Manchester City.

The Spaniard has since apologised to the first-team squad, and Loftus-Cheek has acknowledged that the goalkeeper's teammates had accepted his apology.

Loftus-Cheek told Sky Sports News: "The boss obviously wanted to show he demands respect from his players and he obviously put in Willy [Caballero] for the Tottenham game.

"Kepa was honest with us and he apologised to all of us the day after the final and we all accepted that apology. I think there was a misunderstanding involved in it but he apologised to us and we accepted it. I think it's very important to move on quickly from that."

Arrizabalaga was recalled for Sunday's derby with Fulham and helped the Blues to a 2-1 victory.
