Chelsea will make a 3,600-mile round trip to face CSKA Moscow in their final pre-season match, just one week before the 2016-17 Premier League campaign gets underway.

Chelsea will travel to Russia to face CSKA Moscow in a pre-season friendly just one week before the 2016-17 campaign is due to start.

The Blues will face the 3,600-mile round trip in their final warm-up game for the new season, with owner Roman Abramovich arranging the fixture as a favour to CSKA president Yevgeni Giner.

An exact date for the match has not been confirmed, but it is scheduled to take place shortly after the club return from a tour of the United States.

Incoming manager Antonio Conte has reportedly given the fixture his blessing, although it adds to an already-busy schedule for the 2014-15 Premier League champions.

Chelsea will travel to Austria for a week-long training camp in July before taking on Liverpool, Real Madrid and AC Milan in the United States shortly after their return.
