Ross Barkley has backed Chelsea teammate Mason Mount to make England's Euro 2020 squad, comparing the youngster to Blues boss Frank Lampard.
After a successful loan period with Derby County last season, Mount has been provided with opportunities in the Chelsea first team since the start of this campaign.
Two goals have been scored in four starts, leading to the playmaker being handed a call-up to the England squad for the games against Bulgaria and Kosovo.
Despite the pair effectively being in competition for a place in the team, Barkley feels that Mount is likely to be selected should the Three Lions qualify for next summer's tournament.
The midfielder is quoted by the London Evening Standard as saying: "I believe he will be in the squad 100% when it comes to it.
"Then it is down to him but I believe he will be because of how good he is and the things I have seen this season.
"The way he arrives in the box and gets shots away early, it is similar to Lamps. He has a really good technique with how he finishes as well. He is a brilliant player."
Mount is yet to make his debut for the England senior side, while also featuring just four times for the Under-21s.
