Bournemouth have recorded a comprehensive 4-0 victory over Chelsea in Wednesday's Premier League clash at the Vitality Stadium.

Chelsea had the better of a competitive opening 45 minutes, but Josh King put Bournemouth ahead within 90 seconds of the restart.

David Brooks added a second before King and Charlie Daniels inflicted more misery on Chelsea, who now sit in fifth place in the table.

6.45pmHello and welcome to Sports Mole's live coverage of the match in the Premier League between Bournemouth and Chelsea. Neither side have been producing positive results on a consistent basis, but the two teams will view this game as an opportunity to register a welcome three points in the top flight.

6.47pmWithout further ado, let's take a look at the two starting lineups, beginning with the home side...

6.50pmBOURNEMOUTH XI: Boruc; Clyne, Cook, Ake, Smith; Brooks, Gosling, Surman, Fraser; Stanislas; King

BOURNEMOUTH SUBSTITUTES: Begovic, Daniels, Rico, Mepham, Ibe, Mousset, Solanke

6.51pmCHELSEA XI: Arrizabalaga; Azpilicueta, Rudiger, Luiz, Palmieri; Kante, Jorginho, Kovacic; Pedro, Higuain, Hazard

CHELSEA SUBSTITUTES: Caballero, Christensen, Alonso, Loftus-Cheek, Barkley, Willian, Giroud

6.53pmLet's take a look at Bournemouth who are forced to make do without Callum Wilson. The rumoured Chelsea target misses out with a knee injury, and it means that Junior Stanislas has been brought into the starting lineup.

6.55pmThere is also no place for Jefferson Lerma. The Colombia international may have picked up an injury in training, although the midfielder is on nine yellow cards and a 10th caution this evening would lead to him missing the Cardiff City game at the weekend. The latter appears the most likely scenario.

6.57pmAndrew Surman has been brought into the first XI as Lerma's replacement with the 32-year-old making his 11th Premier League start of the campaign.

6.59pmThere are two notable inclusions on the bench. Defender Chris Mepham is included having completed a big-money transfer from Brentford while Dominic Solanke - formerly of Chelsea - also features on the bench for the first time, despite the suggestion that he needed a few more days to fully overcome a hamstring injury.

7.01pmAs far as Chelsea are concerned, Maurizio Sarri has made as many as seven changes from the team which eased past Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup on Sunday evening. However, Gonzalo Higuain remains in the team having made his debut against the Owls.

7.03pmPedro and Eden Hazard both start having dropped out of the starting lineup at the weekend, but there is no place in the 18-man squad for Callum Hudson-Odoi. The teenager has been linked with Bayern Munich, but the winger did play 90 minutes against Sheffield Wednesday so is probably just being rested.

7.05pmThe midfield three is as expected, with Mateo Kovacic getting the nod ahead of Ross Barkley. Ruben Loftus-Cheek is named on the bench having made a successful return from a back injury three days ago.

7.07pmEmerson Palmieri is rewarded for his impressive showing against Tottenham Hotspur in the EFL Cup semi-finals last week with a start this evening. The 24-year-old has played just 13 minutes of Premier League football all season. The rest of the backline is as expected.

7.09pmEddie Howe has elaborated on the absences of Lerma and Wilson, and it is not good news. Lerma has picked up an ankle problem, while Wilson has undergone a minor knee operation and will not return until the end of February.

7.11pmChelsea head into this game only sitting in fourth place ahead of Arsenal due to goal difference. However, they are two points ahead of Manchester United with a game in hand and will regard this evening's game as a huge opportunity to extend that to five.

Bournemouth are in 12th position, but could move up to 10th spot with victory over the Blues.

7.13pmThe Chelsea social media team missed off 'freezing' as one of the possible answers...

7.15pmBournemouth have won just three of their last 15 matches in all competitions, and the victory over West Ham United 11 days ago represented their first triumph since December 22.

7.17pmThe Cherries have not recorded back-to-back league wins since back in October when they defeated Crystal Palace and Watford.

7.19pmHowever, Bournemouth do possess the sixth-best home record in the Premier League with 21 points coming from 12 outings.

7.21pmBournemouth new boy Chris Mepham is no stranger to Chelsea. The Wales international was born in near-by Hammersmith and played for the Blues' youth team between 2008 and 2012.

7.23pmChelsea head into this game on the back of wins over Tottenham Hotspur and Sheffield Wednesday in the EFL Cup and FA Cup respectively, but the West Londoners are looking to avoid failing to score in three successive away games for the first time since 2002!

7.25pmGoals have generally been a problem for Sarri's side. Just 13 have come from their last dozen matches in the Premier League.

7.27pmThat said, Chelsea have still managed to match their league record at the same stage last season, with 47 points coming from 23 matches.

7.29pmHowever, four defeats have come in their last 11 top-flight games, and it is a return which must improve if Chelsea are to qualify for next season's Champions League.

7.31pmPREDICTION! It is difficult to predict what Bournemouth side will turn up. The Cherries are entertaining to watch, but do give teams chances down the other end and we fancy Chelsea to secure all three points with a narrow 2-1 win.

7.34pmHEAD TO HEAD! Tonight's match represents just the 15th competitive meeting between the two clubs, with Chelsea registering 11 wins in comparison to three victories for Bournemouth.

7.35pmBournemouth have defeated Chelsea on two occasions since earning promotion to the Premier League, but each of those wins have come at Stamford Bridge.

7.37pmChelsea have not faced Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium since October 2017, with a Hazard goal proving to be the difference.

7.39pmWe are also providing coverage of Liverpool's home clash with Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur's meeting with Watford this evening. Click on the relevant link above to access those games.

7.41pmIt's time for the two teams to start making their way out on the South coast. It's extremely chilly, but we expect a high-intensity clash from two teams who should be looking to play on the front foot.

7.43pmA reminder of the two starting lineups...

BOURNEMOUTH XI: Boruc; Clyne, Cook, Ake, Smith; Brooks, Gosling, Surman, Fraser; Stanislas; King

CHELSEA XI: Arrizabalaga; Azpilicueta, Rudiger, Luiz, Palmieri; Kante, Jorginho, Kovacic; Pedro, Higuain, Hazard

1 minKICKOFF:  After an impeccably-observed minute of reflection for Emiliano Sala and David Ibbotson, Bournemouth get us underway.

3 minBoth teams have started brightly at the Vitalty Stadium, but we are going to have a stoppage in play due to an injury to Luiz. King struck a ferocious shot from the edge of the area and it hit Luiz square in the face. Play is immediately stopped but after a minute or so of treatment, Luiz is thankfully back on his feet.

5 minChelsea launch an attack down the right on the resumption of play, but Pedro's cross into the middle is poor and easily cleared by the Bournemouth defence.

7 minOFF THE BAR!  The visitors come agonisingly close to taking the lead. A cross from the right - I think from Pedro - finds Kovacic at the back post, but the midfielder's diving header is tipped onto the crossbar by Boruc. It's a terrific save.

9 minChelsea win a free kick on the left and it finds Luiz on the far side. The defender plays a nice ball back into the middle, but a defender prevents Rudiger from converting from close range.

11 minSHOT!  Chelsea look in the mood tonight. Hazard picks up the ball on the edge of the area and makes good connection with his shot, but Boruc makes a solid save down to his right.

13 minBournemouth are having their moments during these early stages, but Chelsea are looking the more threatening down either flank.

15 minIt's worth us noting that Higuain has looked more lively than he did at the weekend against Sheffield Wednesday. Bournemouth are offering more space to the Argentine.

17 minLATEST! It has taken Liverpool all of three minutes to open the scoring against Leicester City. Sadio Mane has scored the goal for the league leaders. What a start!

19 minChelsea are still in the ascendancy but Bournemouth are doing a better job in preventing the Blues from creating opportunities in front of goal.

21 minSHOT!  Surman is provided with the chance to get a shot away from the edge of the area, but the midfielder sends a left-footed effort over the crossbar.

23 minMoments after Higuain is flagged marginally offside when clear on goal, Chelsea manage to win a free kick around 40 yards from goal. Hazard is standing over it.

25 minSHOT!  Nothing comes from the resulting set piece, but Chelsea are soon given the chance to break forward with Pedro down the right. The Spaniard cut inside onto his left foot, but a shot is fired straight at Boruc.

27 minMore of the same from Chelsea, but they cannot engineer another chance. Bournemouth are starting to hang on a little bit.

29 minBournemouth have barely had a kick of the ball over the past five minutes. Chelsea are doing a terrific job of keeping the home side penned into their own half.

31 minAnother two minutes of Chelsea passing and probing, not giving Bournemouth the chance to take a breather for a single second. Sarri will hope that the pressure eventually pays off. They deserve a goal here.

33 minMuch, much better from Bournemouth. King and Fraser combine to set up Brooks around 10 yards from goal, but the Welshman wrongly decides to take a touch and is dispossessed.

34 minCHANCE!  The Cherries keep on the front foot and a cross from Cook is headed into the path of Brooks by King. However, the playmaker cannot get enough pace on his header and it is easily saved by Arrizabalaga.

36 minChelsea are having to deal with some pressure for the first time in at least half-an-hour. They are dealing with what Bournemouth are throwing at them, but they will not want to spend too much time having to deal with the likes of Brooks, Fraser and King.

38 minSHOT!  Brooks finds himself involved yet again, but the youngster's low drive is too close to Arrizabalaga.

39 minSHOT!  Chelsea go straight up the other end through - of all people - Azpilicueta, but the right-back sees a good effort from distance tipped away by Boruc. Good game, this.

41 minThe visitors are becoming increasingly concerned with Brooks, and Rudiger takes the chance to block off the playmaker out of the view of the referee in order to prevent a Bournemouth attack.

44 minCHANCE!  A sustained spell of pressure from Chelsea ends with no shot on goal, and Bournemouth break three on two. Stanislas is provided with the chance to shoot from 20 yards out, but his strike is straight at Arrizabalaga.

45 minThere will be two minutes of added-on time.

45+2 minHALF TIME:  Bournemouth 0-0 Chelsea

8.37pmThe half-time whistle goes on the South coast, and we remain goalless despite an entertaining opening 45 minutes. Chelsea have had the better of the play and chances, but Bournemouth improved during the final quarter-of-an-hour.

8.41pmChelsea's best opportunity came as early as the seventh minute, with Kovacic somehow being denied a rare goal when Boruc tipped his diving header onto the crossbar.

Brooks and Stanislas have had openings for Bournemouth, but neither player was able to stretch Arrizabalga in the Chelsea goal.

8.46pmThere are three other games taking place in the Premier League this evening. Liverpool remain 1-0 ahead against Leicester, but Tottenham Hotspur are currently trailing by the same scoreline to Watford. Crystal Palace also have a narrow advantage against Southampton.

46 minKICKOFF:  Chelsea get us back underway.

47 minGOAL!  Bournemouth 1-0 Chelsea (Josh King)

47 minWhat a start to the second half. Brooks stands several yards behind the Chelsea defence from a throw-in and the Blues don't react. He takes a touch before pulling the ball back for King, who drills a first-time effort into the roof of the net from 12 yards.

49 minChelsea quickly win a free kick at the other end, but Bournemouth deal with the cross. All of a sudden, the pressure is on the visitors.

51 minThe Blues put together a well-constructed move in the final third but a low cross is well defended by the home, who are starting to pack their defence.

53 minSarri has already sent out some of his substitutes to warm up. You get the feeling that the Italian is not amused.

55 minBournemouth launch their first attack since the goal and it is an effective one, too, with Brooks getting in behind Emerson. However, the midfielder is just offside.

57 minSHOT!  Chelsea's short passing in and around the penalty area is easy on the eye, but it is just too congested. It forces Pedro to shoot from 30 yards, but Boruc is not going to be beaten from there.

59 minThe Blues should probably be level. Pedro's magnificent floated pass over the top of the defence finds the run of Kante, who is just 12 yards from goal. However, the midfielder miscontrols the ball and the chance is gone.

61 minSUBSTITUTION! Chelsea make their first change with Willian being introduced for Pedro.

63 minGOAL!  Bournemouth 2-0 Chelsea (David Brooks)

63 minChelsea are in a real mess now. A mix-up on the halfway line between Luiz and Rudiger gifts the ball to Brooks. The midfielder gives the ball to King before making a run through on goal and after cutting inside Luiz, the youngster forces the ball into the bottom corner from 10 yards out.

65 minSUBSTITUTION! Sarri makes a second Chelsea change with Giroud being brought on for Higuain. The travelling supporters are not happy.

67 minBrooks is down receiving treatment having picked up a knock, but Chelsea could do with the chance to regroup. They are now second-best and do not look like halving the deficit, never mind drawing this match.

68 minSUBSTITUTION! Brooks is having to be replaced. Ibe is the man to be introduced into the action.

70 minIt looks like Cook may have to come off as well now. The defender has injured himself when clearing the ball. It looks to be his groin.

71 minCook is back on his feet and it looks like he will continue. Mepham will have to wait for his Bournemouth debut.

72 minYELLOW CARD!  Surman has gone into the book for what appears to be dissent after a harsh foul was given against Smith.

74 minGOAL!  Bournemouth 3-0 Chelsea (Josh King)

74 minGame over. Bournemouth are taking Chelsea apart! A pass down the right finds the run of Stanislas who keeps his composure to tee up King, who sends a first-time effort into the top corner from 10 yards out.

77 minSUBSTITUTION! Chelsea make a third alteration as Loftus-Cheek takes the place of Kovacic.

79 minCHANCE!  Loftus-Cheek has wasted no time in getting involved and the Englishman should probably score when being teed up by a cutback from the left. However, a shot directed towards the far corner from 12 yards goes well wide of the post.

80 minCHANCE!  The visitors are pressing here but it is too little too late. A cross from Hazard finds Rudiger at the back post, but the German's header is kept out by Boruc.

82 minRemember that Chelsea are looking to avoid breaking a 17-year record tonight. They have not failed to score in three away games in a row since 2002. They have eight minutes plus added-on time to ensure that doesn't happen.

84 minThe only consolation for Chelsea is that Spurs are still losing to Watford. This still represents a huge missed opportunity for the Blues in the race for fourth place.

86 minChelsea are still probing but this game is as good as over. Bournemouth have had some bad luck during a dismal run of results, but they have been sensational in this second half.

88 minSarri's side are at home to Huddersfield at the weekend. That game has probably come at the right time. It's an absolute must-win ahead of the visit to Manchester City the following week.

90 minSHOT!  Willian has been bright since his introduction but on this occasion, the Brazilian fails to find the target with a well-struck shot.

90+1 minThere will be five minutes of added-on time.

90+3 minSUBSTITUTION! Daniels has been introduced for Fraser, who leaves to a standing ovation.

90+5 minGOAL!  Bournemouth 4-0 Chelsea (Charlie Daniels)

90+5 minBournemouth have a fourth! Ibe delivers a ball into the ball for Daniels, who provides the stooping finish after getting the better of Giroud.

90+6 minFULL TIME:  Bournemouth 4-0 Chelsea

9.48pmThe full-time whistle goes at the Vitality Stadium and Bournemouth have absolutely thrashed Chelsea! The Blues had the better of the opening 45 minutes, but the home side were superb after the break and fully deserve their comprehensive win.

9.50pmThat will be all from Sports Mole for this match. Thank you for joining us this evening and we hope to see you again soon.
