Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte hands starts to both Ethan Ampadu and Michy Batshuayi for the EFL Cup quarter-final tie with Bournemouth.

Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte has handed starts to both Ethan Ampadu and Michy Batshuayi for the EFL Cup quarter-final tie with Bournemouth.

Conte admitted in his pre-match press conference that he would be ringing the changes for the clash in West London, and the Italian has kept his word by giving a second Chelsea start to Ampadu and giving a rare opportunity to Batshuayi.

Goalkeeper Willy Caballero and left-sided player Kenedy also feature, while Danny Drinkwater is brought back into the team to partner Cesc Fabregas in midfield.

Gary Cahill captains the team, and attacking pair Willian and Pedro retain their places in the starting lineup with Eden Hazard dropping down to the bench.

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has made a total of seven alterations from the team which began the 4-0 defeat to Liverpool, with Jack Simpson being given just his second start in the senior side.

Artur Boruc replaces Asmir Begovic between the sticks, while Lys Mousset and Ryan Fraser are handed roles either side of Jermain Defoe in attack.

Callum Wilson returns to the squad after missing Sunday's match with a minor knee problem.
