How Chelsea could line up against Tottenham Hotspur

Sports Mole looks at how Chelsea could line up in this weekend's huge Premier League showdown with Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea will be targeting all three points when Tottenham Hotspur travel to Stamford Bridge this weekend, as they attempt to keep their top-four hopes alive.

The Blues return to top-flight action sitting five points below their London rivals and know that anything less than victory could well see them miss out on the Champions League for a second time in three years.

Spurs have not picked up a league win at the home of Chelsea since 1990, and the Blues have lost just one of the last 18 encounters overall.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how the reigning Premier League champions could line up on Sunday afternoon.

Predicted Chelsea XI vs. Spurs

Out: Ethan Ampadu (ankle), David Luiz (ankle), Ross Barkley (hamstring)
Doubtful: Thibaut Courtois (hamstring), Andreas Christensen (fatigue)

Antonio Conte has a couple of big injury concerns heading into the match, most notably between the sticks as Courtois picked up a hamstring injury on international duty and is a doubt for this huge showdown.

Should the big Belgian miss out, Willy Caballero will be restored to the starting lineup for an 11th appearance of the season - just one of those coming in the top flight.

There is also a question mark over Christensen's availability, with Conte admitting at his pre-match press conference that he may be forced to leave the young defender out due to fatigue.

In the prolonged absence of Luiz, Gary Cahill is the man on standby to slot into the backline if Christensen does not get the green light to feature.

Arguably the biggest selection call comes up top, though, as Conte must choose between Olivier Giroud and Alvaro Morata. The latter is expected to get the nod here after being left out of Spain's squad, giving him a two-week breather between matches, whereas Giroud played a combined 90 minutes for France in friendlies against Colombia and Russia.

Eden Hazard and Willian are favourites to start either side of the central striker, though Pedro will be hoping for some game time after netting from the bench in Chelsea's FA Cup quarter-final win over Leicester City before the international break.
