Watford, Crystal Palace and Leicester City are reportedly battling it out for Celtic defender Jozo Simunovic.

Watford, Crystal Palace and Leicester City are reportedly battling it out to sign Celtic defender Jozo Simunovic before the transfer window closes at 11pm tonight.

The 23-year-old centre-back was a key part of the side that won the Scottish Premiership, Scottish Cup and Scottish Challenge Cup last season and is valued at around £9m by Brendan Rodgers's side.

According to the Daily Mail, a number of Premier League sides have been in touch about the possibility of a deal for the Croatian as they look for defensive reinforcements.

Simunovic almost completed a transfer to Serie A side Torino last summer, only for the deal to fall through at the last moment due to a disagreement over the fee.

Having arrived at Celtic Park in September 2015 as a replacement for Virgil van Dijk, Simunovic has since gone on to feature 57 times in all competitions for the club, contributing two goals.

Kieran Tierney of Celtic holds off the challenge from Mattias Mostrom of Molde during the UEFA Europa League Group A match between Celtic FC and Molde FK at Celtic Park on November 5, 2015 in Glasgow, United Kingdom.
