Celtic captain Scott Brown claims that new manager Brendan Rodgers has improved his game this season, instilling him with tactical discipline.

Celtic captain Scott Brown has credited new manager Brendan Rodgers with improving his game this season.

The 31-year-old has received praise for a number of impressive displays in recent months and went on to score the decisive goal in a 1-0 victory over Dundee at Dens Park on Saturday.

Brown told Sky Sports News: "I'm learning from the manager and his tactical discipline, rather than just running about and tackling people.

"From this season to last season it has been night and day for everyone and to get a good pre-season under my belt has been the main thing... the gaffer is looking out for me as well as to make sure I'm ticking over."

Brown will not be part of Scotland boss Gordon Strachan's squad for the World Cup qualifier against Lithuania on Saturday, having decided to quit international football in August.
