Celtic captain Scott Brown says that he hopes to return to training during pre-season as he continues to recover from a hamstring injury.

Celtic midfielder Scott Brown has said that he hopes to make a return to training during pre-season after missing the final three games of last season.

Brown suffered a hamstring injury towards the end of the campaign as Celtic won the Scottish Premiership for the fifth successive year, but the skipper hopes to have recovered in time for pre-season which begins towards the end of the month.

The 30-year-old told Celtic TV: "I've been injured so just trying to get over that and make sure my injuries are okay for the start of pre-season.

"I'm feeling not too bad. I started running the other day. I feel okay so hopefully I can kick on now."

Brown made a total of 36 appearances for the Glasgow giants last season, scoring one goal.
