Cardiff City defender Sol Bamba believes that his side will pick up their first win of the Premier League campaign soon.

Cardiff City defender Sol Bamba has insisted that his side will pick up their first win of the Premier League campaign soon.

The Bluebirds have picked up a point in games against Newcastle United and Huddersfield Town, but suffered losses to Bournemouth, Arsenal and Chelsea.

After conceding seven goals in their last two league games, Bamba has admitted that his team need to work on their defensive tactics ahead of their upcoming fixture against champions Manchester City.

"We've got to do better at the back that's for sure because at this level every mistake gets punished," Bamba told reporters at an event in Cardiff.

"When we get a chance we need to take it and I think that's been the difference so far. We need to keep the basics, to be strong and make sure we are difficult to beat and then I'm sure we will have a chance.

"We have played top quality opposition so it was always going to be difficult but I think if we carry on playing like we have been then we are definitely going to win more games than we lose."

Cardiff sit 17th in the Premier League table, hovering above the relegation zone due to their superior goal difference.
