Burnley boss Sean Dyche admits that he is aiming to build a healthy mixture of experience and youth following a busy summer transfer window at Turf Moor.

Burnley boss Sean Dyche has talked up the balance of his newly-assembled squad ahead of the coming Premier League season.

The Clarets manager has been able to add a number of experienced top-flight players to the club's ranks this summer, including Phil Bardsley, Jon Walters and Jack Cork, while also bringing in a youthful prospect in the shape of Charlie Taylor from Leeds United.

"The perfect scenario is to have a mixture. Charlie has come in at a younger age, there's more development in him," said Dyche, according to the Lancashire Telegraph.

"We've got that bit more experience about the group with Jon and Phil coming in, we've still got players adapting like Andre [Gray] and Jeff [Hendrick]. There's a healthy mixture at the minute."

Dyche has been at Turf Moor since 2012, making the Burnley boss the seventh longest serving manager among the 92 Football League clubs.
