Bristol City are reportedly considering a move for Bournemouth midfielder Shaun MacDonald ahead of Thursday's deadline for emergency loan signings.

Championship side Bristol City have reportedly set their sights on signing Shaun MacDonald from Bournemouth before Thursday's emergency loan deadline.

According to the Bristol Post, the Robins want to bolster their midfield ahead of the final eight games of the season as they try to secure their place in the second tier for next year.

Lee Johnson's side are 19th in the table, six points above the bottom three.

Welsh international MacDonald is a fringe player at Bournemouth who has failed to start a Premier League game for the Cherries since their promotion to the top flight.
