How Brazil could line up against Qatar ahead of Copa America

Sports Mole looks at how Brazil could line up against Qatar in their penultimate friendly before the 2019 Copa America gets underway.

Brazil face Asian champions Qatar in their penultimate friendly before hosting the 2019 Copa America.

The Selecao head into the competition as favourites to go all the way, despite failing to advance beyond the quarter-finals in their last three attempts.

After winning seven and drawing one of their eight matches since last summer's World Cup, Tite will be keen to keep the momentum going as his side face Qatar and Honduras over the next week.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Tite could set out his side for the first of those friendlies in Brasilia on Thursday.

Possible BRA XI vs. QAT

Doubtful: Alisson Becker, Roberto Firmino

Alisson and Firmino were late joining up with the national side due to their participation in the Champions League final with Liverpool last weekend.

All the talk in the build-up to the Qatar match has centred on Neymar, who was stripped of the captaincy last week and has had to respond to rape allegations in the past few days.

Neymar is expected to start on Thursday, though, with Richarlison also in contention to feature on the opposite flank after an impressive 2018-19 for club and country.

With Firmino missing, Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus is likely to continue leading the line.

Tite has a choice of two formations to go with - either a 4-1-4-1 or a 4-2-3-1 - which effectively comes down to where he fields Casemiro.

This match will give Dani Alves his first chance to lead out the Selecao since taking over captaincy duties from Neymar. The veteran full-back will win his 108th cap for his national side.
