Relegated Championship side Bolton Wanderers have reportedly identified Chris Wilder as their top choice to become the club's new manager.

The Trotters were confirmed as relegated to the third tier last weekend and are building towards life in League One.

Wilder is also set to be plying his trade in the same division having led Northampton Town to an emphatic promotion from League Two.

According to BBC Radio Manchester, Wilder, who is on a one-year rolling contract with the Cobblers, is Bolton's preferred choice to become Neil Lennon's full-time successor.
