Bundesliga club-by-club transfer latest: August 22

Sports Mole takes a closer look at all of the latest transfer stories from the Bundesliga.

The Bundesliga season may be starting on Friday night, but there is still time for the league's managers to complete deals before the end of the transfer window.

It has been another busy week full of transfers and gossip, and Sports Mole takes a closer look at the latest news involving German clubs.

Augsburg

It appeared that the signing of Ghanaian defender Baba Rahman would be the end of Augsburg's business in the summer window, but the defeat to Magdeburg in the DFB-Polkal could persuade Markus Weinzierl to target at least one more player.

Bayer Leverkusen

A number of clubs are believed to be planning a move for central defender Philipp Wollscheid, with Hull City, Southampton and Sunderland being linked with the 25-year-old, who recently insisted that he has no intention of negotiating a loan deal.

Bayern Munich

Rumours of a possible move for Marco Reus won't disappear, and Franz Beckenbauer has admitted that he is desperate to see the attacking midfielder make the switch to the Allianz Arena.

Sami Khedira has rejected the offer of a new contract from Real Madrid, and the German is believed to be keen on a transfer to Bayern, while reports have suggested that Pep Guardiola may also raid the Spanish capital for Atletico Madrid defender Diego Godin.

Borussia Dortmund

Keeping his star players is surely key for Jurgen Klopp, and he may well consider the transfer window a success if Reus remains a Dortmund player for another season.

However, the club have confirmed this week that they will be beginning contract talks with highly-rated defender Erik Durm.

Borussia Monchengladbach

USA international Fabian Johnson, who only joined Monchengladbach from Hoffenheim at the start of the summer, is reported to be the target of surprise interest from Barcelona as they look to continue their business before starting a transfer ban.

Eintracht Frankfurt

Frankfurt are reported to still be in the market for another striker, despite pulling out of a deal to sign Nicklas Bendtner, who has signed Wolfsburg.

FC Koln

Patrick Helmes has returned to training with the rest of his teammates after overcoming a hip problem to provide a crucial attacking option, but rumours in Germany linking the club with a bid for former forward Lukas Podolski will not go away.

Hamburger SV

It now seems unlikely that Rafael van der Vaart will be leaving the club in the near future, with chairman Dietmar Beiersdorfer recently revealing his intention to keep the playmaker.

Hoffenheim

One of Hoffenheim's young stars is reported to be on their way out of the club, with midfielder Tom Koblenz believed to be close to securing a move to Derby County.

Mainz 05

Kasper Hjulmand was given the dreaded vote of confidence following the penalty shootout disappointment against Chemnitzer FC, and bringing in a striker is likely to be a priority in the closing stages of the window.

Schalke 04

Benedikt Howedes has caused some concern for Schalke supporters by suggesting that he would like to play abroad in the future, with Arsenal one of a number of clubs linked with the German defender.

Stuttgart

Seeing Manchester United complete the signing of Marcos Rojo earlier this week was news that would have been welcomed by the club, who were reported to be facing the battle to prevent Antonio Rudiger from moving to Old Trafford.

Werder Bremen

Fulham forward Bryan Ruiz, who spent the second half of last season on loan at PSV Eindhoven, is a reported target for Bremen, and the club are apparently considering tabling a £4m bid.

Wolfsburg

Bringing a striker to the club before the beginning of the new season was the priority, and Bendtner's arrival has provided a boost as they prepare to face Bayern on Friday night.
