Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness reveals that Carlo Ancelotti's position at the club became untenable after five players turned against the Italian.

Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness has revealed that Carlo Ancelotti's position at the club became untenable after a group of players turned against the Italian.

The former Chelsea manager was sacked by the Bundesliga giants on Thursday following a 3-0 hammering at the hands of former club Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.

In announcing the decision, Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge claimed that Ancelotti's dismissal was due to the team's performances failing to meet expectations.

Hoeness, however, claimed that dressing-room divisions also played their part, telling the Westfalenpost: "There were five players against Ancelotti. It was impossible to get out of that."

Ancelotti left Bayern having won 42 of his 60 games in charge at the Allianz Arena.
