Werder Bremen score inside the final five minutes to seal a 3-3 draw with Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga.

Werder Bremen had to come from behind twice to share a 3-3 draw with Bayer Leverkusen in their Bundesliga clash this evening.

The home side made a bright start to the match, with Gonzalo Castro creating a couple of chances, but Raphael Wolf kept both of his shots out.

Leverkusen broke the deadlock less than 20 minutes in though, when Tin Jedvaj volleyed the ball in off the underside of the crossbar after beating two defenders on the edge of the box.

Stefan Kiessling and Levin Oztunali both had chances to double their lead, but Fin Bartels drew the score level just before half time with a low drive from distance.

Jedvaj came close to adding his second early in the second half, but his first effort was blocked before another was saved.

Against the run of play, the visitors took the lead when a quick break from Zlatko Junuzovic set up Franco di Santo for a tap-in from close range.

Leverkusen needed just three minutes to get back on level terms after winning a free kick when Kiessling was brought down around 25 yards out, leaving Hakan Calhanoglu to curl the ball into the back of the net.

The hosts pushed for a third, and managed to get back ahead when Jedvaj delivered a corner for Son Heung-Min to fire in from the edge of the box.

Bremen pressed hard to get themselves back on level terms towards the end of the tie, forcing a string of corners before Nils Petersen managed to head on for Sebastian Prodl to slice the ball into the top corner.

Kiessling tried to force a fourth for Leverkusen in the final moments of the match, but his long-range effort was well wide, ensuring that the sides finished level.
