Barcelona travelled to top-four hopefuls Villarreal on Sunday knowing that three points would see them open up an 11-point lead at the top of La Liga.
Ivan Rakitic's fifth league goal of the season and a controversial Neymar penalty saw the Catalan outfit take a two-goal lead into the interval.
However, the scores were level at 2-2 in the 63rd minute courtesy of a close-range Cedric Bakambu strike and an own-goal from Jeremy Mathieu.
Both teams pressed for a winner late on, but it ended with a share of the spoils at El Madrigal.
