Barcelona forward Luis Suarez will undergo surgery in November to remove a synovial cyst from his right knee, according to a report.

Luis Suarez will reportedly undergo surgery in November to remove a synovial cyst from his right knee.

The 30-year-old has struggled to find his best form in the early stages of the 2017-18 campaign - managing just two goals in six appearances for Barcelona.

The problem with Suarez's right knee is understood to have become particularly troublesome in recent weeks, and according to Diario Sport, Barcelona are keen for their centre-forward to have surgery in November.

The report claims that Barcelona want the former Liverpool forward to go under the knife at the start of next month, meaning that he could only potentially miss one club match due to the scheduled international break.

Uruguay are expected to have a say on the date, however, with the South American nation yet to book their spot at next summer's World Cup, although a point at home to Bolivia next week would be enough to qualify.

Barcelona will host Sevilla in La Liga on November 4, before returning to action away to Leganes on November 18.
