Philippe Coutinho will reportedly require six weeks before being able to make his return to action after ankle surgery.

Bayern Munich have reportedly been dealt a blow ahead of their scheduled return to Bundesliga action.

Last month, Philippe Coutinho underwent ankle surgery which was initially due to keep him out for a couple of weeks.

However, the Brazilian may now miss the remainder of the campaign after being ruled out until the closing days of June.

As it stands, that could see the Barcelona loanee remain out of contention for Bayern's final 13 matches in Germany's top flight.

Barcelona will also be keen to monitor Coutinho's recovery period as they attempt to find a buyer for the 27-year-old ahead of the next transfer window.

Coutinho has made 22 starts and 10 substitute outings in all competitions this season, scoring nine goals.
