Barcelona team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Alaves

Sports Mole rounds up Barcelona's injury and suspension news ahead of Saturday's La Liga clash with Alaves.

Barcelona will be looking to return to winning ways in La Liga when they continue their 2020-21 campaign away to Alaves on Saturday night.

The Catalan giants suffered a 3-1 home defeat to Real Madrid in El Clasico last weekend, with the result leaving them in 12th position in the table.

Ronald Koeman's side are going well in the Champions League this season, though, making it two wins from two matches with an impressive 2-0 success away to Juventus on Wednesday night.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Barca's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Saturday's clash with Alaves, who are currently 15th in Spain's top flight.

Possible return date: Unknown

Marc-Andre ter Stegen is yet to feature for Barca this season after undergoing a knee operation in August. The Germany international is now back in first-team training, although it is unclear when the club's number one goalkeeper might be available to return between the sticks.

Samuel Umtiti

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Samuel Umtiti, who was strongly linked with a move away from Camp Nou over the summer, is yet to feature this season due to ongoing knee problems, and he will also miss out against Alaves.

Philippe Coutinho

Possible return date: November 21 (vs. Atletico Madrid)

Barca were without the services of Philippe Coutinho against Juve due to a hamstring problem. The Brazil international played the full 90 minutes of Saturday's Clasico, but the issue was confirmed by Barca on Sunday, and is now set to spend at least the next couple of weeks on the sidelines.

Ronald Araujo
