Di Francesco: 'We won't sit back against Barca'

Roma boss Eusebio Di Francesco insists that his team will not park the bus against Barcelona in their Champions League showdown next week.

Roma coach Eusebio Di Francesco has insisted that his team will not set up to stifle Barcelona in next week's Champions League quarter-final first leg.

In 2010, Jose Mourinho's Inter Milan side managed to oust the Catalan giants by defending a 3-1 lead from the first leg in their semi-final showdown.

However, Di Francesco has claimed that he will not be mirroring Mourinho's approach when they face Barcelona.

"I don't think I've got this tactical attitude to face Barcelona in that way," the manager told Sky Sport Italia. "I think we must not lose our own identity and not sit back much. My idea is not to play a game in which we just wait for them, trying to stay in their half as much as we can.

"We've got to play this game with great respect for our opponents, but without any fear - that is something we need to keep at a distance."

Roma overcame Shakhtar Donetsk to reach the quarter-finals of the competition.
