Barcelona team news: Injury, suspension list vs. PSG

Sports Mole rounds up all of Barcelona's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their Champions League last-16 second leg with Paris Saint-Germain.

Barcelona must produce a comeback of La Remontada proportions if they are to keep their Champions League hopes alive when they travel to Paris Saint-Germain for the second leg of their last-16 tie.

Kylian Mbappe stole the show as the French champions ran riot at Camp Nou in the first leg, as Lionel Messi's early penalty failed to inspire Barcelona to victory, and they eventually lost 4-1 on their own turf to Mauricio Pochettino's men.

While their European dreams are hanging by a thread, Ronald Koeman's side at least managed to warm up for this game with a 2-0 La Liga victory over Osasuna, with Jordi Alba and teenage protege Ilaix Moriba bagging the goals on the night.

Jordi Alba

Type of injury: Arm
Possible return date: March 10 (vs. PSG)

Jordi Alba - who opened the scoring against Osasuna - had to come off on the 87-minute mark after falling over on his arm, and it remains to be seen how serious the issue is, but he has made the squad and should therefore be fine for the game.


Ronald Araujo

Possible return date: Unknown

Ronald Araujo made his return from a sprained ankle against Sevilla on February 27, but he was unable to complete the match and did not take part against Osasuna as his injury flared up again. The defender will not be ready to make his comeback against PSG.


Gerard Pique

Possible return date: Unknown

Gerard Pique made a quicker-than-expected return to action from a knee injury in the first leg, but the experienced defender picked up another problem in the same area in the Copa del Rey against Sevilla and will not be available on Wednesday.


Sergi Roberto

In what is becoming a familiar occurrence at Barcelona, the injury-plagued Sergi Roberto suffered another muscular problem after making his return to action, and the hero of La Remontada is unlikely to return in time for this one.

Philippe Coutinho suffered a serious knee injury against Eibar in December and has since gone under the knife. The Brazil international is getting closer to a return, but it will not be against PSG.


Ansu Fati
