Hungary goalkeeper Gabor Kiraly has become the oldest player to feature at a European Championships after being named in the starting lineup against Austria in Group F at Euro 2016.

The eccentric shot-stopper, who is 40 years and 74 days old, has taken the record from Germany's Lothar Matthaus, who was 39 years and 91 days old when he played at Euro 2000.

Krisztian Nemeth was a doubt for the match because of a muscle injury, but Hungary have received a boost as he is named in the first XI in Bordeaux.

Meanwhile, Austria have had a clean bill of health heading into the tournament, and there are no surprises in the lineup as Bayern Munich defender David Alaba is pushed into midfield, with Marc Janko leading the line.

Stoke City attacker Marko Arnautovic also gets the nod to start, while defender Gyorgy Garics remains in the squad despite the death of his father last week.

Austria: Almer; Klein, Dragovic, Hinteregger, Fuchs; Baumgartlinger, Alaba; Harnik, Junuzovic, Arnautovic; Janko

Hungary: Kiraly; Fiola, Guzmics, Lang, Kadar; Gera, Nagy; Dzsudzsak, Kleinheisler, Nemeth; Szalai
