Atletico Madrid midfielder Matias Kranevitter has joined Sevilla on loan for the 2016-17 campaign.

The Argentine agreed a deal with Atletico in the summer of 2015, but did not officially link up with the capital outfit until January due to River Plate's involvement in the Club World Cup.

The 23-year-old struggled to make his mark at the Vicente Calderon in the second half of last season, however, and has now been allowed to join Sevilla on loan for the new campaign.

Europa League winners Sevilla have already lost midfield duo Grzegorz Krychowiak and Ever Banega to Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan respectively in this summer's transfer window.
