Atletico Madrid 'agree Nico Gaitan deal'

Atletico Madrid agree a £19m deal with Benfica for the transfer of Argentine international Nico Gaitan, according to a report.

Atletico Madrid have reportedly agreed a £19m deal with Benfica for the transfer of Nico Gaitan.

Gaitan has been consistently linked with a move to Manchester United over the last couple of seasons, but Atletico are also believed to have had a long-standing interest in the 28-year-old.

According to Marca, Atletico have now agreed a price for the Argentine, who will sign a four-year contract at the Vicente Calderon next month.

Twelve-time Argentine international Gaitan scored 11 goals and provided 19 assists as Benfica lifted their third straight Portuguese title during the 2015-16 campaign.
