Aston Villa reject a £1.5m bid from Championship rivals Reading for 25-year-old midfielder Leonardo Bacuna, according to a report.

Aston Villa have reportedly rejected a £1.5m bid from Reading for Leandro Bacuna.

Bacuna joined Villa from Dutch outfit Groningen in 2013, and the 25-year-old has scored eight times in 128 appearances for the English club in all competitions.

According to Sky Sports News, Reading launched a £1.5m bid for the Curacao international over the weekend, but the offer was quickly rejected by Championship rivals Villa, who are said to be keen to keep hold of the versatile midfielder.

Last term, Bacuna made 31 appearances in all competitions for his Championship club.

The former Netherlands Under-21 international has three years left to run on his contract at Villa Park.
