Andre Green: 'Aston Villa belong in Premier League'

Aston Villa youngster Andre Green targets a return to the Premier League with the Midlands club.

Aston Villa winger Andre Green has set his sights on winning promotion to the Premier League after signing a new contract with the club.

The 19-year-old, who recently put pen to paper on a new two-year deal, said that it is his ambition to play in the top flight once against and stressed that he and his teammates are confident of going up this season.

"I've only played two games in the Premier League but it's where everyone wants to be," Green told the Birmingham Mail. "It's the biggest league in the world and I want to be there performing on the main stage.

"For us to be back there, it will be great for the club. Winning promotion is massive. Everyone knows we've got the squad capable to get up and we're all confident.

"We're in good form. We've got the belief there which is important. We belong in the Premier League so that's our target now."

Green has not played in the league for six months due to a persistent hamstring injury, but is expected to return to action next month.
