Bundesliga side Mainz reportedly set their sights on Arsenal midfielder Serge Gnabry following his performances at the Rio Olympics.

Mainz 05 are reportedly keen to bring Arsenal midfielder Serge Gnabry to the club on loan this summer.

Gnabry shone at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, scoring six goals to help Germany all the way to the final of the men's football.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has previously expressed his desire to keep Gnabry at the Emirates Stadium, but German newspaper Allgemeine Zeitung reports that Mainz are looking at a possible deal for the 21-year-old.

Hertha Berlin and RB Leipzig have also been credited with an interest in the youngster, but Mainz are considered to be the front-runners as they look for midfield reinforcements following the loss of Jhon Cordoba and Jairo to injury.

However, Arsenal may be unwilling to lose another attacker on loan having already sent Joel Campbell to Sporting Lisbon for the 2016-17 campaign.
