Arsenal are reportedly considering paying £51m to sign Juventus striker Alvaro Morata in a deal that would result in the Spaniard returning to Real Madrid first.

Arsenal have reportedly begun talks regarding a potential big-money move for Spanish striker Alvaro Morata.

The 23-year-old currently plays for Juventus, but he is yet to commit his future to the Serie A giants.

Morata moved to Turin from Real Madrid in 2014, but it is believed that the La Liga club are considering exercising their buy-back option.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Madrid would fork out £23.6m to re-sign the striker before agreeing a sale thought to be worth around £51m with Arsenal.

The report adds that the Gunners are in talks with Madrid already, despite Morata still being a Juventus player.

Arsenal spent just £11m in last summer's transfer window after securing the signature of goalkeeper Petr Cech from Chelsea.
