A report claims that Jack Wilshere has been given the green light to seek a move away from Arsenal on loan after slipping down the club's midfield pecking order.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has reportedly told Jack Wilshere that he can leave on loan prior to Wednesday's transfer deadline in an attempt to get regular first-team football elsewhere.

The England international has been plagued with injury issues throughout his career at the Emirates Stadium, preventing him from pushing on an fulfilling his true potential.

Wilshere has made just two substitute appearances this term, amounting to a combined 37 minutes of playing time, having been ruled out of the home opener with Liverpool through another niggling problem.

According to Sky Sports News, Wenger is keen for Wilshere to join another club in the coming days on a short-term basis - possibly until the end of the campaign - after holding talks with the 24-year-old earlier this week.

The arrival of Granit Xhaka this summer saw Wilshere essentially slip to the Gunners' sixth-choice midfielder, behind Santi Cazorla, Aaron Ramsey, Mesut Ozil, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Switzerland international Xhaka.

Wilshere faced further disappointment this week when being left out of Sam Allardyce's first squad as England manager for the away qualifier against Slovakia in Trnava.
