Arsenal reportedly move closer to securing the signing of AS Monaco winger Thomas Lemar, despite his club insisting that he will not be leaving this summer.

Arsenal have reportedly made a breakthrough with AS Monaco regarding the signing of winger Thomas Lemar.

Since the end of last season, Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has been frustrated in his attempts to sign Lemar and Kylian Mbappe, but it appears that the Premier League side may have moved closer to securing the signature of one of their star men.

According to The Sun, Monaco are ready to accept an offer in the region of £45m from Arsenal, rather than insisting on the wideman remaining at Stade Louis II for at least another year.

Earlier this week, Monaco had stated that the 21-year-old would not be allowed to depart as they attempt to defend their Ligue 1 title.

In his two years with Monaco, Lemar has netted 19 goals in 80 appearances in all competitions.
