How Arsenal could line up against Brighton & Hove Albion

Sports Mole looks at how Arsenal could line up for their Premier League clash with Brighton & Hove Albion on Tuesday evening.

Arsenal will be aiming to record back-to-back victories in the Premier League for the first time since September when they take on Brighton & Hove Albion on Tuesday evening.

The Gunners outclassed a title-chasing Chelsea side on Boxing Day and ran out 3-1 winners at the Emirates Stadium courtesy of goals from Alexandre Lacazette, Granit Xhaka and Bukayo Saka.

Mikel Arteta's side managed to distance themselves from the danger zone with that impressive win in North London, and the Gunners will now be aiming to win two on the bounce in the top flight for only the second time this season.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how the Gunners could line up for their game against Brighton.

POSS ARS XI vs. BHA

Out: Thomas Partey (thigh), Gabriel Magalhaes (self-isolating), Willian, David Luiz (both illness)

Arsenal's medical room is slowly starting to empty at a crucial time of the campaign, but Brazilian trio Gabriel Magalhaes, Willian and David Luiz are all sidelined due to illness-related issues.

Gabriel will not be back for another couple of weeks as he undergoes a precautionary self-isolation period, but despite giving away a last-minute penalty against Chelsea, Pablo Mari deputised well on Boxing Day.

The Arsenal rearguard should remain the same for this game despite the quick turnaround in fixtures, but there could be an alteration in midfield with Dani Ceballos in line for a recall, potentially over Mohamed Elneny.

Thomas Partey is still sidelined with a thigh problem, and it is difficult to see Joe Willock forcing his way into Arteta's first XI over fellow academy graduate Emile Smith Rowe, who earned plenty of plaudits for his performance against Chelsea.

Another youngster who ran himself into the ground on Boxing Day was Gabriel Martinelli, who managed to shake off fitness concerns to play a starring role against the Blues. However, Arteta may be reluctant to start the teenager again as he works his way back from a serious injury, while Bukayo Saka may also be granted a rest given Arsenal's plethora of wide options.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang overcame a calf problem to make the bench on Saturday, and the Gunners captain should line up from the first whistle in midweek, while Nicolas Pepe could come in on the opposite flank if Arteta opts to rotate.

Up top, Eddie Nketiah and Folarin Balogun are both vying for more starts in an Arsenal shirt, but following his confidently-taken penalty against Chelsea, Alexandre Lacazette is unlikely to be dropped.
